Project Engineer

About the Role

WSP is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team in Jeddah. This full-time role involves supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. The Project Engineer will ensure compliance with project objectives, quality standards, schedules, and client requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Role Context

The Project Engineer will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Resident Engineers, design teams, contractors, clients, and authorities to facilitate the successful execution of infrastructure projects. This position requires strong technical knowledge, effective project coordination skills, and experience in managing diverse engineering activities from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering, design, construction, and project delivery activities.
• Support the Project Manager in planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of project progress.
• Review engineering deliverables, drawings, specifications, and technical submissions.
• Monitor project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate interfaces between various engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Assist in managing project risks, issues, and change requests.
• Review contractor submissions, method statements, and technical documents.
• Attend client, stakeholder, and progress meetings and prepare technical reports.
• Support quality assurance and quality control activities across project disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate authority approvals, permits, and stakeholder requirements where applicable.
• Monitor construction activities and provide technical support during project execution.
• Track action items, project decisions, and engineering deliverables.
• Support project closeout, handover, and documentation activities.
• Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in project engineering roles, preferably within infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated strong technical knowledge in engineering disciplines relevant to infrastructure.
• Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering activities.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with various project stakeholders, including design teams, contractors, and authorities.
