About the Purchasing Officer Role
Centro Shaheen is seeking a dedicated Purchasing Officer to join their team in Jeddah. This full-time position requires a professional with 2-5 years of experience in materials management and a commitment to delivering excellent service and effective solutions.
Role Overview and Purpose
The Purchasing Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of hotel and storeroom supplies. This position is responsible for the efficient execution and management of all authorized purchase requests and orders, aligning with the hotel's operational needs and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and complete all daily allocated and authorized purchase requests and orders.
- Manage all administrative procedures related to purchase requests and orders.
- Select the most competitive price quotations while ensuring the best quality for all confirmed orders.
- Clarify and resolve any discrepancies in purchase request data, including descriptions, units, quantities, and specifications, by directly communicating with the initiating department.
- Collaborate with buyers to ensure efficient processing of requests and timely delivery of goods.
- Verify and ensure that all approved purchase orders are promptly forwarded to the concerned vendors.
- Review and update price quotations, supplier data, and date validity for accuracy.
- Engage with vendors to identify new products that can serve as alternatives for existing ones, and arrange for samples for testing.
- Provide evidence of product quality and cost-effectiveness when proposing alternatives.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Candidates for this role should possess:
- A minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing or materials management.
- Proven ability to manage administrative tasks related to procurement.
- Strong understanding of procurement best practices and vendor management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with departments and vendors.
Work Environment and Details
This is a full-time position based in Jeddah. The role involves direct interaction with internal departments and external vendors, requiring a professional and organized approach to daily tasks.
