About the Role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to join its team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time leadership position focuses on driving commercial excellence across major infrastructure and development programs in the region. The role involves high-value commercial management, complex contract interpretation, and strategic preparation and negotiation of project variations and claims. The Senior Commercial Manager will contribute to shaping commercial strategy while mentoring teams and fostering a culture of financial discipline and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive project reviews to identify financial risks, analyze performance metrics, and propose mitigation strategies to protect project margins.
  • Review cash flow analyses, monitor cost expenditures, and ensure projects remain within budget while maintaining quality standards.
  • Lead the implementation and oversight of Earned Value Management (EVM) systems, providing guidance on best practices and performance measurement.
  • Collaborate with project teams to control margin erosion, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions to enhance profitability.
  • Assist project teams in reducing Work in Progress (WIP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), and monitor billings and cash collections to improve liquidity.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Analyze project developments, scope changes, and design modifications to determine entitlement to variations or claims; prepare and support claim submissions with evidence-based arguments.
  • Provide expert guidance to project teams during the bidding stage to negotiate favorable contract terms and conditions.
  • Cultivate a commercial mindset by educating project teams on risk identification, scope management, and financial drivers; conduct training and provide guidance on contractual interpretation.
  • Serve as the primary commercial interface between project teams, finance, legal, and senior management to streamline operations and safeguard project performance.
  • Provide data-driven insights and strategic commercial reporting to regional leadership on major projects and initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial management.
  • Demonstrated experience in high-value commercial management and complex contract interpretation.
  • Proven ability in strategic preparation and negotiation of project variations and claims.
  • Experience in mentoring teams and fostering financial discipline.
