Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Amazon Saudi Arabia is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to implement and maintain critical IT infrastructure at its Jeddah site. This full-time role involves reporting to the IT Manager and serving as an escalation point for IT Support Technicians and remote teams on technical issues. The engineer will work closely with business teams, colleagues, and remote support teams to deliver day-to-day support and meet operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain IT infrastructure across software and hardware environments.
• Ensure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours.
• Maintain all IT equipment at optimum performance, meeting departmental KPIs and SLAs.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking fundamentals, including routers, switches, wireless APs, structured cabling (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, TCP/IP).
• Liaise with global SME teams for installation and maintenance of networking/server infrastructure according to Amazon standards.
• Perform site audits to ensure adherence to Amazon IT and Health & Safety guidelines.

Project Execution and Improvement

• Run site-level projects with business, fellow engineers, and remote support teams, acting as the single point of contact and keeping stakeholders informed.
• Create, review, and execute change management requests and project plans, validating technical execution.
• Manage equipment availability through continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
• Identify root causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
• Maintain and create policies, procedures, processes, and documentation.

Team Leadership and Support

• Provide direction and support to IT Support Technicians on tickets and action items.
• Mentor and train technicians, acting as a technical contact for remote support teams.
• Support recruitment of new talent into OpsTechIT (once trained).

Customer and Stakeholder Engagement

• Support customers across multiple buildings and remote sites.
• Represent IT in site meetings and act as an escalation point for business and support functions.
• Manage contractor/supplier relationships, communicating technical issues and Amazon standards.
• Purchase equipment according to policies, budgets, and operational demand.
• Contribute to the paid on-call schedule for high-severity incidents.
• Produce weekly reports covering metrics and work performed.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure. This role requires building technical depth across networking, systems administration, and infrastructure management.
