About the Server Role at Edition

Edition is seeking a Server to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves providing food and beverage service to guests, ensuring a high standard of hospitality. The position requires 0-1 years of experience in a similar capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests.
• Set tables according to event type and service standards.
• Answer questions regarding menu selections and communicate with the kitchen about menu inquiries, wait times, re-cook orders, and product availability.
• Relay additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
• Record transactions in the MICROS system at the time of order.
• Check with guests to ensure satisfaction with food courses and beverages.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, and glassware throughout the day.
• Complete closing duties, including restocking items and turning off lights.
• Present accurate checks to guests and process payments.

Operational Standards and Guest Interaction

• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management; and complete required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
• Communicate with others using clear and professional language.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, support the team in achieving common goals, and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to read and visually verify information in various formats (*, small print).
• Capability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance and objects exceeding 50 pounds with assistance.
• Proficiency in grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
• Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
