About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Jeddah is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse I to join its full-time nursing team. This role is central to providing comprehensive nursing care, utilizing the nursing process, and upholding established standards of nursing practice and performance within a leading healthcare environment.

Role Summary

The Staff Nurse I is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in accordance with core standards, established policies, and evidence-based practices. This position requires accountability for the entire patient care continuum, from assessment and planning to implementation, evaluation, and discharge planning. The role also involves demonstrating leadership competencies when acting as a shift resource or team leader.

Key Duties and Accountabilities

  • Provide total patient care as assigned, adhering to core standards and evidence-based practices.
  • Assume accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, including discharge planning.
  • Contribute to reducing patient length of stay and waiting times in collaboration with Case Management.
  • Document all relevant patient information accurately, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
  • Report equipment failures, safety/security issues, and supply inventory reductions to the Head Nurse or designee.
  • Foster collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships to continuously improve patient care quality and act as a patient and family advocate.
  • Promote a safe environment and patient care by embracing a safety culture, identifying risks, and complying with safety and infection prevention policies.
  • Contribute to cost efficiency by maintaining awareness of resource utilization and exercising care in the use of staff, equipment, and materials.
  • Participate in achieving clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction, leading unit-based Performance Improvement activities as assigned.
  • Assist in new staff and nursing student orientation, acting as a preceptor/mentor to develop competence.
  • Demonstrate transcultural principles in nursing practice.
  • Contribute to special projects and assignments aligned with nursing strategic priorities and professional practice models.
  • Promote and share knowledge through mentorship, in line with relevant research and evidence-based practice.
  • Adhere to all Hospital-related policies and procedures.
  • Participate in personal and professional education, training, and development.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's or Associate Degree/Diploma in Nursing is required.
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience is required for candidates with a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Four (4) years of nursing experience is required for candidates with an Associate Degree/Diploma.
  • No experience is required for Saudi nationals holding a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Licensure and Professional Development

  • Current Registered Nurse Licensure from the country of origin is mandatory.
  • Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Licensure is also required.
  • Candidates with less than one (1) year of experience (applicable to Saudi nationals with a Bachelor's Degree) are required to enroll in the New Graduate Development Program.
