Wet Chemist / Wet Chem Technician

About the Role

SGS, a global leader in Testing, Inspection, and Certification, is seeking a Wet Chemist / Wet Chem Technician to join their team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with hands-on knowledge in wet chemical analysis and the operation of various laboratory instruments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and efficient wet chemical analysis of samples, adhering to approved testing methods and laboratory procedures.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, including AAS, ICP, UV, LECO, and XRF, to support testing activities.
• Conduct routine equipment checks and report any instrument faults or maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
• Adhere to quality control procedures, maintain precise laboratory records, and report non-conformities.
• Prepare, handle, and label laboratory solutions and standards correctly.
• Ensure laboratory cleanliness, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and compliance with safety, hygiene, and QHSE requirements.
• Monitor laboratory supplies and report any shortages or operational issues to the supervisor.
• Support daily laboratory operations to ensure timely, reliable, and accurate test results.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in wet chemical analysis.
• Demonstrated hands-on knowledge of wet chemical analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in operating AAS and ICP instruments.

Work Environment and Location

This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, within a dynamic laboratory setting. The role requires adherence to strict safety and quality protocols to ensure accurate and reliable testing outcomes.
