Role Purpose and Contribution

The Assistant Manager Procurement Fresh Food plays a vital role in assisting the Procurement Manager. This involves developing robust procurement strategies, cultivating strong supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, continuous analysis of market trends, and active participation in process improvement initiatives to enhance overall procurement efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define procurement requirements, specifications, and quality standards for goods and services.
• Conduct market research to identify and evaluate potential suppliers, maintaining an updated supplier database.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable contracts and achieve cost savings.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services, addressing any delivery or quality concerns promptly.
• Support the end-to-end procurement process, including raising purchase requisitions, reviewing quotes, and issuing purchase orders.
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements.
• Manage supplier performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to foster improved relationships and performance.
• Contribute to cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiation, value analysis, and strategic supplier management.
• Analyze procurement data and market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, process enhancements, and supplier optimization.
• Provide procurement expertise and support to internal stakeholders as needed.
• Manage Source to Contract processes and procurement category management tasks as assigned.
• Lead sourcing activities through bidding, RFP, RFQ, and RFI processes, providing deep category expertise to sourcing specialists.
• Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting procurement and sourcing.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management, in accordance with Saudi Labor Law regulations.

Strategic Procurement and Supplier Management

This role is central to developing and executing sourcing strategies, including supplier consolidation and other strategic initiatives. The Assistant Manager will actively contribute to process improvement efforts, such as streamlining procurement workflows and implementing best practices.
