About the Role

Accor is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead engineering operations at ibis budget Makkah Al Aziziah – Al Hidayah Towers Hotel in Makkah. This full-time leadership position requires 5-10 years of experience and involves driving technical excellence, strategic innovation, and operational efficiency across all engineering functions within a large-scale hospitality environment.

Located in Makkah, km from Masjid Al Haram, the hotel comprises 10 towers with 4,502 rooms, accommodating up to 21,504 guests. It primarily serves the Hajj and Umrah markets, welcoming pilgrims from Saudi Arabia and international source markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all engineering operations, maintenance, and technical initiatives.
• Develop and implement comprehensive engineering strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
• Oversee daily operations and ensure strict team compliance with safety protocols, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Direct maintenance, repairs, and optimization of building systems, infrastructure, interiors, exteriors, and guest-facing areas.
• Execute, monitor, and optimize the preventive maintenance program to maximize asset longevity and minimize downtime.
• Manage departmental budgets, control expenses, and contribute to strategic financial planning and annual operating budget forecasts.
• Develop, deliver, and oversee comprehensive training programs to build technical expertise and ensure professional standards.
• Conduct regular departmental meetings to communicate strategic updates, address operational challenges, and foster collaborative problem-solving.
• Ensure unwavering adherence to all fire, life safety, emergency procedures, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional growth.
• Manage inventory, assets, security protocols, and equipment to optimize resource utilization and operational efficiency.
• Analyze engineering performance metrics and implement data-driven improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align engineering initiatives with broader organizational objectives.
• Make decisive, strategic decisions regarding capital investments, system upgrades, and technical implementations.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in engineering leadership roles.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage engineering operations in a large-scale environment.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience in strategic planning, budget management, and team development.
