About the Role

Nadia is seeking a Competency Management Manager to join our team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time professional position with shared responsibilities across the Safety Department, Human Resources Department, and the corresponding departments of Partner subcontractors. The primary focus of this role is to establish a common framework for all entities within the team and to coordinate and monitor the performance of competency assessments.

Competency Management System Development

The Competency Management Manager will be instrumental in developing and implementing robust competency frameworks. This involves creating a comprehensive Competency Management System (CMS) for application across the organization and its partners.

  • Establish a framework and develop a Competency Management System (CMS) for application within the team.
  • Provide strategic advice regarding the Competency Management Cycle, Training Plans, and Succession Planning.
  • Develop a Risk-Based Training Need Analysis process.
  • Develop and implement competency-based development programs.
  • Integrate competency models into performance management and talent processes.
  • Identify critical roles within the organization.

Coordination and Oversight

This role requires close collaboration with various departments and external partners to ensure the effective application and monitoring of competency standards. The manager will lead assessments, audits, and provide expert insights.

  • Coordinate with Safety and Human Resources Departments and corresponding departments of Partner subcontractors to monitor the application of the Competence Management system.
  • Participate in programmed competency audits to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Elaborate reports regarding compliance with the Competency Management Plan and establish early indicators.
  • Lead competency assessments, audits, and benchmarking exercises.
  • Assess workforce capabilities and identify skill gaps across departments.

Strategic Contributions and Reporting

The Competency Management Manager will contribute to strategic discussions and provide specialized expertise in human factors and competency trends.

  • Participate in the Safety Management and Human Resource Committees when competence management is on the agenda.
  • Participate in accident investigations when human behavior appears as a direct cause of the accident.
  • Provide expertise regarding Human Factors training and monitoring.
  • Ensure alignment of competencies with industry standards and best practices.
  • Provide insights and reports on competency trends and workforce readiness.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this full-time position should possess a solid background in competency management and related fields.

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience is required.
