About the Role

Eram Talent is seeking a Data Center Planner for a contract position based in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, with operations extending to Jeddah and Makkah. This role is responsible for overseeing 24x7 shift team activities within Data Centers, ensuring adequate staffing, and managing capacity planning for new deployments. The Data Center Planner ensures all racking and associated activities adhere to Data Center standards and change processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct capacity planning for Data Center hosting.
• Prepare racking diagrams and assign them to relevant shifts.
• Oversee racking and related activities performed by the DC Operations team.
• Manage the shift schedule for Data Center Operations personnel.
• Liaise with OSP/ISP Teams for interbuilding connectivity requirements.
• Plan and recommend Data Center operational requirements.
• Manage vendor relationships.
• Maintain the Data Center Asset Register.
• Oversee break/fix procedures for Windows/Linux servers during hardware failures, assisting system owners with troubleshooting and coordinating hardware replacement with vendors.
• Proactively monitor and record facility security, HVAC, Fire Detection and Suppression Systems, temperature, humidity, and critical power systems.
• Ensure continuous Data Center security, including visitor sign-in and escorting protocols.
• Perform miscellaneous operational duties as per SOPs approved by the Data Center Lead.
• Ensure compliance with TIA 942 standards for copper and fiber cabling across all Data Centers.
• Interface with vendors such as HP, Dell, SUN, and Supermicro for hardware/system implementation.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Ability to coordinate day-to-day activities and preventive maintenance with facility and IT staff, following instructions from the Data Center Lead.
• Demonstrated experience with communications circuits and Ethernet cabling (structured copper cabling and fiber optic cables).
• Proficiency in Windows server and Linux configuration and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical components, including Online Double Conversion UPS, Dynamic Rotary UPS, medium/low voltage circuits, and chilled water-cooled HVAC systems.

Work Environment and Schedule

The work location for this contract position is Thuwal, Saudi Arabia. The role may require working a flexible shift, including nights and weekends, and participation in an on-call rotation as needed.
