About Rixos Hotels and the Opportunity

Rixos Hotels, a global leader in hospitality, is seeking a Director of Finance for its new property, Rixos Murjana, located in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Rixos Murjana is a significant addition to the Kingdom's hospitality sector, spanning 275,000 square meters and offering an all-inclusive experience. This full-time role is based in King Abdullah Economic City, Makkah, and requires an experienced finance professional to lead the property's financial operations.

Role Overview

The Director of Finance will oversee the entire finance function of Rixos Murjana, reporting directly to the General Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, effective budget management, and strategic cash flow planning. The successful candidate will maintain compliance with Rixos policies, procedures, and relevant Saudi Arabian laws, while fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Finance, Accounting, Cost Control, Purchasing, and related financial operations.
• Prepare, monitor, and manage the annual operating budget, forecasts, cash flow projections, and working capital.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting, reconciliations, and timely submission of reports to Rixos, ownership, and authorities.
• Implement and maintain effective cash management controls, providing recommendations based on financial performance.
• Monitor revenues, expenses, purchasing, payroll, disbursements, and overall financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with Rixos policies, financial controls, and applicable Saudi Arabian laws and regulations.
• Coordinate with the Regional Director of Finance and Regional Office on financial matters and projects.
• Collaborate with all departments to monitor expenses, identify variances, and support cost control initiatives.
• Supervise credit management activities and support the reduction of overdue balances.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns and other statutory reports.
• Liaise with external auditors, legal counsel, government authorities, and professional advisors as required.
• Lead, coach, train, supervise, and evaluate Finance and related department employees.
• Actively participate in credit meetings, management meetings, training programs, and property initiatives.
• Support continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and financial performance across the property.

Compliance and Quality Management

The Director of Finance will ensure compliance with the ISO Integrated Management System, including standards for Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety, Risk, Food Safety, and Customer Complaint Management. This role actively supports risk management, environmental impact assessments, conservation efforts, guest satisfaction, and continuous improvement programs.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A hospitality-related qualification is an advantage.
• 5-7 years of relevant finance experience within the hotel or hospitality industry.
• Previous experience in a senior hotel finance or Director of Finance role is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of hotel accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial controls, and cash management.
• Good understanding of Saudi Arabian financial, tax, and statutory requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Responsibilities

• Coordinate effectively with other Department Heads at Rixos Murjana.
• Conduct regular technical and skills training within the area of responsibility.
• Ensure team members are familiar with emergency, security, and operational procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant Rixos policies, operational standards, and departmental documentation.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management, including assuming Duty Manager responsibilities when scheduled.
