About the Electromechanical Technician Role

International Water Distribution Co. (Tawzea) is seeking a skilled Electromechanical Technician to join its team in Jeddah and Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is critical for maintaining the operational integrity of water distribution infrastructure. The role requires 2-5 years of experience in electromechanical systems.

Role Purpose and Operational Context

The Electromechanical Technician will be responsible for the comprehensive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and control systems. This includes ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of automation and control systems across wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), pumping stations, and lift stations, directly contributing to the continuous service delivery of water distribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults in PLC, SCADA, HMI, RTU, VFD, and field instrumentation systems.
• Calibrate, test, install, and commission field instruments, including pressure, flow, level, temperature, and analytical instruments.
• Monitor control system performance and identify opportunities to improve system reliability and reduce downtime.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, loop diagrams, control logic, and technical documentation for maintenance activities.
• Conduct routine inspections and functional testing of instrumentation and control equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, calibration certificates, and work reports in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to plan and execute maintenance activities with minimal disruption.
• Assist in the installation, modification, and upgrading of instrumentation and control systems.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and applicable industry standards.
• Support emergency breakdown response and participate in on-call maintenance activities when required.
• Identify spare parts requirements and report equipment defects or recurring failures to supervisors.
• Participate in system testing, commissioning, and performance verification following maintenance or project activities.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure tools, instruments, and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Electromechanical Technician position should possess 2-5 years of experience in a similar role, specifically within industrial automation, instrumentation, or control systems. A strong understanding of PLC, SCADA, HMI, RTU, and VFD systems is essential, along with practical experience in calibrating various field instruments. The ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and documentation is also required.

Work Environment and Collaboration

This full-time role is based across facilities in Jeddah and Makkah. The technician will work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams, requiring effective communication and coordination to minimize operational disruptions. The role involves supporting emergency responses and participating in on-call duties as needed to ensure continuous system functionality.
