Role Overview: Fire Engineer / Consultant

Jensen Hughes is seeking a Fire Engineer / Consultant to contribute expertise in fire protection engineering. This full-time position is based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, with responsibilities extending to projects across the Middle East. The role focuses on fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, and comprehensive fire protection strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and direct design activities for assigned projects.
• Design fire alarm and mass notification systems.
• Oversee the design, installation, commissioning, on-site testing, and inspection of various systems, including fire alarms and fire suppression systems (*, FM 200, foam, wet).
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, design drawings, and presentations.
• Mentor and collaborate with local team members.
• Review design and construction submittals to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct site surveys to inspect and evaluate building features and systems, including emergency lighting and exit signs.
• Interface with authorities having jurisdiction and manage client meetings.
• Communicate effectively with project team members, clients, and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in code consulting and/or fire protection system design services.
• Specific experience in fire alarm design and mass notification systems.
• An engineering qualification in Electrical/Electronics or Mechanical is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in all aspects of fire protection engineering, including fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, and fire protection strategies.
• Ability to prepare technical reports, specifications, design drawings, and presentations.
• Capability to review design and construction submittals for regulatory compliance.
• Competence in performing site surveys to inspect and evaluate building features and systems.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with multiple stakeholders and managing multiple projects across the Middle East.

Work Environment and Location

This full-time position is based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for projects across the Middle East, operating within a collaborative team environment.
