Product Development Manager

About the Role

Alesayi Beverages is seeking a Product Development Manager to join their team in Makkah, with operations spanning Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role involves comprehensive product development, from initial concept to commercialization, with a focus on consumer insights, formulation, prototyping, and regulatory compliance within the Beverage or Dairy industry. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze competitor products, pricing, and positioning to identify market gaps and areas for differentiation.
• Generate and develop new product ideas based on market research, consumer insights, and technological innovations.
• Identify and select ingredients that meet desired taste, texture, and nutritional profiles, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
• Develop and test initial formulations, considering factors such as flavor, color, aroma, mouthfeel, and shelf-life.
• Create prototype samples for internal evaluation and conduct pilot testing to ensure scalability without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes, considering equipment capabilities, yield, and ingredient costs.
• Ensure all ingredients and products comply with food safety regulations and meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including certifications and labeling.
• Work with design and marketing teams on packaging design and material selection that preserves product quality and aligns with sustainability goals.
• Estimate production costs, including raw materials, and optimize formulations to achieve desired profit margins.
• Plan for large-scale production, coordinate supply chain, and implement quality control measures during mass production.
• Monitor market performance, track sales, and gather customer feedback to assess product success and drive continuous improvement and innovation.
• Ensure sustainable sourcing of ingredients and design products and packaging to minimize waste and align with environmental goals.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 10 years of experience in product development, preferably within the Beverage or Dairy industry.
• Demonstrated experience in managing product development from concept to commercialization.
• Proven ability to conduct competitive analysis and identify market opportunities.
• Strong background in recipe formulation, ingredient selection, and nutritional optimization.
• Experience with prototyping, small-scale production, and pilot testing.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance, food safety standards, and relevant certifications.
• Familiarity with packaging development and material selection.
• Skills in costing, profitability analysis, and process optimization.
• Experience in coordinating with cross-functional teams, including marketing, regulatory affairs, and production.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, with responsibilities extending to Jeddah. The role requires collaboration with various internal teams and external partners to achieve product development objectives.
