Sample Prep Technician

About SGS and the Role

SGS, a global leader in inspection, verification, testing, and certification, is seeking a Sample Prep Technician to join its laboratory team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is critical for ensuring the quality and accuracy of samples processed within the laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing laboratory samples in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine sample preparation activities following laboratory procedures.
• Operate sample preparation equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure prepared samples accurately represent the original material and meet quality requirements.
• Conduct routine cleaning and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Adhere to laboratory quality control procedures and maintain precise records.
• Ensure compliance with SGS Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
• Report equipment issues, incidents, and non-conformities to the supervisor.
• Support daily laboratory operations to meet sample processing requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in sample preparation or a similar laboratory role.
• Knowledge of laboratory sample preparation procedures.
• Ability to operate sample preparation equipment.
• Basic understanding of laboratory safety and quality control practices.

Required Skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
• Willingness to work shifts as required.

Work Environment

This role is based in a laboratory setting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, requiring adherence to strict safety and quality protocols. The position is full-time and may involve working various shifts to meet operational demands.
