About the Senior Category Manager Role

Panda Retail Company – Savola Group is seeking a Senior Category Manager, Frozen & Importation to join its team. This full-time position is based in either Jeddah or Makkah, within the Makkah region, and requires 5-10 years of relevant experience. The role is central to driving the achievement of sales, margin, other income, and total commercial margin targets for the assigned category.

Strategic Contribution

The Senior Category Manager is responsible for defining and executing a customer-focused category strategy. This strategy balances financial performance with innovation, differentiation, and high-quality in-store experiences. The objective is to ensure sustainable growth and a significant contribution to Panda Retail Company’s overall revenue and profitability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for the assigned category to ensure achievement of sales, margin, and profitability targets aligned with company objectives.
• Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and differentiation within the category.
• Plan and manage assortment, pricing, and promotions to ensure alignment with customer preferences and category financial performance.
• Negotiate and manage supplier agreements and trading terms to ensure optimal cost, margin, and additional income generation for the business.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Space & Range, and Marketing teams to ensure effective implementation of category plans and availability in stores.
• Evaluate category performance using sales, margin, and profitability reports to ensure data-driven decisions and continuous improvement.
• Lead innovation and product development initiatives to ensure the introduction of unique, high-quality, and customer-relevant offerings.
• Manage and develop supplier relationships to ensure long-term partnerships that deliver sustainable value and competitive advantage.
• Coach and support category and merchandising team members to ensure alignment with strategic goals and build strong category management capability.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position must possess 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant category management role, demonstrating a proven track record in achieving commercial targets.

Work Type and Location

This is a full-time position located in the Makkah region, with primary work locations in either Jeddah or Makkah.
