Senior Design Instrumentation and Control Engineer SHQJEDD

About the Role

Tractebel is seeking a Senior Design Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join their team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires extensive experience in design, engineering, and review processes for Instrumentation and Control systems, particularly within large-scale power plant projects. The role involves managing design works, coordinating with various disciplines, and ensuring compliance with international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications for Instrumentation and Control systems.
• Coordinate design reviews with contractors and consultants.
• Manage design works in collaboration with the Contractor.
• Conduct internal coordination with other engineering disciplines.
• Review and verify EPC submitted engineering documents related to Instrumentation and Control.
• Evaluate design calculations, studies, and CFD modeling.
• Review manuals, FAT procedures and reports, and construction/commissioning documentation.
• Assess vendor materials, proposed vendor designs/drawings, and procurement documents.
• Review IFC/AFC/AFI drawings, red markup, and as-built drawings.
• Participate in Hazop/Hazid/SIL studies, risk assessment, and mitigation.
• Evaluate claims, change orders, and contribute to close-out reports for LSTK Steam Power Plant Gas Conversion Projects.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in design, engineering, and review of Instrumentation and Control systems.
• Demonstrated experience in reviewing EPC submitted engineering documents for large-scale projects.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant International Standards.
• Proficiency in relevant design software.
• Well-versed in MS Office applications and familiar with MIS.

• Ability to manage and coordinate complex design review scopes and activities.

Work Location

This position is based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with potential work in Jeddah. It is a full-time role within Tractebel's operations in the region.
