About the Opportunity

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position for a professional with 5-10 years of experience in quality assurance and control within the engineering and construction sector.

Role Overview

The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for maintaining daily records of site activities and documenting all quality observations. This role is critical in ensuring that contractors comply with project specifications, managing and evaluating processes for efficient quality control, and providing essential support to the construction team and Quality Control Specialists. The incumbent will ensure all work consistently adheres to contract requirements.

Core Responsibilities

• Review and check vendors' prequalifications, Method Statements, Inspection Test Plans (ITP), equipment data, material samples, and/or manufacturers for compliance with contract drawings, specifications, and the project’s quality system.
• Ensure all requirements of applicable specifications and drawings are met and report on deficiency corrections on-site.
• Establish and maintain robust procedures to develop standard documentation for the project’s quality control and assurance, and propose any necessary improvements.
• Implement QA procedures and coordinate QC work with other technical disciplines to ensure safe and seamless management across all trades and activities.
• Coordinate testing and inspection of offsite materials storage and testing.
• Inspect all materials for compliance with submittals and drawings.
• Monitor the performance of all control activities and tests on building components.
• Direct, supervise, and coordinate inspection/engineering QC activities.

Quality Assurance and Problem Resolution

• Plan and execute regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to activity quality control.
• Identify non-conformances, lead investigations with relevant departments, and evaluate contractors' submitted corrective & preventive action plans.
• Participate in the development of the Commissioning plan, roles, and responsibilities, and implement the commissioning plan.

Reporting and Inter-Departmental Coordination

• Participate in and conduct Quality meetings with the contractor, Construction team, and suppliers.
• Coordinate with the Engineering team to resolve all construction issues, RFIs, and conflicts.
• Review, assist, and facilitate the Daily Report process; keep an updated daily report; prepare and submit weekly and monthly quality reports.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on various architecture engineering processes & techniques and coordinate with other departments for the technical activities of projects.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess 5 to 10 years of experience in quality engineering or a related field, demonstrating a strong background in implementing and overseeing quality control and assurance procedures. A comprehensive understanding of project specifications, construction processes, and regulatory compliance is essential for success in this role.
