About the Role

Vanderlande is seeking a Site Mechanical Supervisor BHS Eng to oversee the installation of mechanical equipment for material handling projects. This full-time position is based in Makkah, with responsibilities extending to Jeddah. The role involves leading and guiding an installation team, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and contributing to project success from installation through handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and supervise the installation of mechanical and electromechanical equipment for Vanderlande material handling projects, aligning with project schedules.
• Provide clear instructions to the onsite installation team, ensuring all work complies with quality standards and Vanderlande processes.
• Promote a culture of safety among the installation team throughout project execution.
• Conduct surveys of installation areas, verify readiness, and confirm required facilities for installation. Support site handover processes.
• Maintain a strong onsite presence through regular site walks and a thorough auditing schedule, focusing on safety and quality control in line with Vanderlande standards.
• Contribute to the creation of the project installation schedule and ensure adherence to meet project timelines.
• Monitor team progress, identify improvement opportunities, and support continuous enhancement efforts.
• Report regularly on work progress to the Site Manager, ensuring effective coordination with subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Train new technicians to enhance their skills, fostering ongoing team improvement and promoting continuous learning.
• Organize and facilitate all support activities to ensure a smooth commissioning and testing process until handover to the customer.

Core Activities and Deliverables

The supervisor is directly responsible for performing mechanical installation and mechanical static inspections. Key deliverables include As-Built Notes & Drawings and a Defect List.

Consultation is required for activities such as commissioning conveying systems, commissioning safety span of control, creating installation spare parts (ME), developing the site management plan, making EM documentation as-built, and pre-commissioning conveying cabinets, safety systems, and safety PLC cabinets.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical supervision, particularly within material handling projects. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electromechanical equipment installation, quality standards, and safety protocols.

Work Environment and Travel

This is a full-time position based in the Makkah region, covering projects in Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves significant onsite presence. Travel to project sites is required as necessary for project execution and support, with travel requirements varying based on project needs and locations.
