About the Role
KEO International Consultants is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to join their team in Medina, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control within the construction industry.
Role Overview
The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all construction works meet contractual specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. This role involves monitoring site activities, maintaining records, preparing reports, and facilitating coordination between different disciplines to resolve technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the quality of works and assess site safety, including health and environmental aspects, ensuring compliance with contractual specifications and risk assessments.
- Maintain daily site activity records, including progress photos, ensuring their availability for inspection.
- Prepare surveillance reports for work deficiencies and non-conformance reports (NCRs) as needed.
- Ensure effective coordination between discipline-related works and other disciplines.
- Provide technical input and expertise to resolve discipline-related issues on site.
- Assess and act upon Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by the contractor in a timely manner.
- Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings, specifications, local codes, statutory requirements, and international best practices.
- Report any works carried out by the contractor that do not conform to approved drawings and specifications to stakeholders for appropriate action.
Required Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 8 years of work experience.
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in high-rise buildings and hospitality projects.
- Strong knowledge of precast concrete fabrication processes, including testing, inspections, and quality standards.
- Experience in conducting material tests, dimensional checks, and inspecting precast components for compliance with design specifications.
- Familiarity with international quality standards and building codes related to precast concrete (*, ASTM, BS, ACI).
- Experience in developing and implementing quality control plans and procedures specific to precast construction.
