Job Description: Presales Engineer
Job Objective
The Presales Engineer acts as a liaison between the sales team and technical teams, by understanding customer requirements and translating them into integrated technical solutions, with the preparation of pricing and technical and commercial offers for the solutions offered by the company in the fields of network infrastructure, physical security, building management systems, and data centers, in order to achieve the highest competitive value for the customer and the highest profitability for the company.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
• Studying and analyzing customers' technical and commercial requirements (RFP/RFQ) and translating them into integrated technical solutions that are compatible with the company's services.
• Preparing technical and commercial pricing (BOQ/BOM) for products and services, in coordination with suppliers and authorized partners to obtain the best prices and supply terms.
• Preparing technical and commercial proposals and tender documents in accordance with customer requirements and company standards.
• Designing technical solutions in the fields of network infrastructure (structured cabling and unified communications), physical security (surveillance, access control, fire detection), building management systems, and data center solutions.
• Accompanying the sales team in technical meetings with customers and providing demonstration presentations of the proposed solutions.
• Communicating with suppliers and strategic partners to obtain competitive prices and updated technical specifications.
• Preparing comparative studies between alternative solutions and suppliers (Vendor Comparison) to ensure the best value for the customer.
• Following up on market updates and modern technologies in the company's fields of work to maintain the competitiveness of the offered proposals.
• Coordinating with implementation and project teams to ensure the feasibility of the proposed solutions within the specified budget and timeline.
• Maintaining an updated record of price lists and approved profit margins for each category of products and services.
• Preparing periodic reports on the status of offers, tenders, and award rates.
Educational Qualifications and Work Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Communications/Networks/Computer/Electrical) or equivalent.
• At least 3-5 years of practical experience in Presales or Technical Pricing within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.
• Preference will be given to those with previous experience in companies operating in the field of network infrastructure, physical security, or data centers.
Required Skills and Competencies
• Good technical knowledge of network solutions (Routers, Switches, Firewalls), physical security systems (CCTV, Access Control), building management systems, and data center infrastructure.
• Strong familiarity with pricing methods, preparing BOQ/BOM, and calculating profit margins.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with customers and suppliers.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and familiarity with design programs like AutoCAD is preferred.
• Proficiency in both Arabic and English, spoken and written.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines for tenders and offers.
Preferred Professional Certifications
• CCNA/CCNP or equivalent in the field of networking.
• Certified technical certifications from major suppliers in the fields of physical security, building management systems, and data centers (*, Cisco, HikVision, Honeywell, Schneider Electric).
• A PMP certification is considered an added advantage.
