ACCOUNTANT GENERAL

About the Role

Alfanar Projects is seeking a General Accountant to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves managing bookkeeping and monitoring accounting transactions, requiring 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee supplier invoice processing and ensure accurate 3-way matching.
• Verify invoices for tax and policy compliance.
• Manage timely vendor payments and address vendor inquiries.
• Monitor accruals, prepayments, and align expenses with accounting periods.
• Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger with vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee customer invoicing, ensuring accuracy and contract adherence.
• Evaluate customer creditworthiness and manage receivables to minimize bad debt.
• Implement collection procedures and resolve overdue payment issues.
• Reconcile customer accounts and analyze aging reports.
• Manage accounting for fixed assets, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and prevent inventory shrinkage.
• Track and verify company assets periodically.
• Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial statements according to IFRS and assist with external audits.
• Support budget preparation, monitor financial performance, and identify risks.
• Improve accounting processes for efficiency and compliance with local regulations.

• Delivery: Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets as per schedules, utilizing resources effectively within cost and time constraints. Provide periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.
• Problem-Solving: Resolve related problems and escalate complex operational issues.
• Quality: Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes, including specifications for products, processes, or related activities.
• Business Process Improvements: Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, and seek automation opportunities.
• Compliance: Adhere to relevant policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Health, Safety, and Environment: Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within the defined work area.
