The Accountant Role

BYD is seeking an Accountant to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position, offered as a local contract under Saudi labor law. The role is open to all nationalities; expatriates holding a valid Iqama or those eligible for a work visa are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting and bookkeeping tasks.
• Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), including regular reconciliations with customers and suppliers and resolving discrepancies.
• Review employee reimbursements and payment requests to ensure expenses are genuine, reasonable, and accurately allocated to appropriate cost centers.
• Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly VAT returns to ensure tax compliance.
• Establish and maintain invoice management ledgers to ensure completeness, traceability, and compliance of invoice records.
• Coordinate with external tax agents for annual tax clearance and other tax-related matters.
• Assist in the implementation of local financial IT systems, participating in designing approval workflows, configuring accounting logic, and optimizing internal control processes.
• Coordinate with the China head office finance team for data reporting and related tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Candidates with local Saudi work experience are highly preferred.
