About the Role: AI Governance and Risk Specialist

Socium - Teams Done Differently is seeking an AI Governance and Risk Specialist to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a contract position requiring 5-10 years of relevant experience. The specialist will be instrumental in supporting the organization's efforts to manage the governance, risk, compliance, and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence.

Role Purpose and Scope

The primary objective of this role is to collaborate with various business and technology teams to identify AI-related risks and establish appropriate controls. The specialist will support governance processes and help ensure that AI solutions are implemented and utilized responsibly across the organization. This involves a focus on maintaining ethical standards and regulatory adherence in AI deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of AI governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Assess and monitor risks associated with AI solutions and use cases.
  • Ensure appropriate governance, controls, documentation, and approvals are in place for AI initiatives.
  • Collaborate with technology, risk, compliance, legal, security, and business teams on AI-related projects.
  • Support assessments related to data privacy, security, ethics, bias, transparency, and AI reliability.
  • Monitor regulatory and industry developments pertinent to AI governance and risk.
  • Support third-party and vendor assessments for AI-related products and services.
  • Maintain comprehensive AI governance documentation, registers, and reports.
  • Assist with audits, risk reviews, and remediation activities.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Promote the responsible and compliant use of AI throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Risk, or a related discipline.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Good understanding of AI, technology risk, governance, and compliance concepts.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a changing environment.

Work Arrangement

This is a contract role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focusing on critical AI governance and risk management initiatives.
