About the AI Governance Fellowship Programme
Duncan & Ross is recruiting a founding cohort of 21 Fellows for an AI Governance programme based in Riyadh. This full-time role focuses on building legal, technical, and policy capacity to support a national AI and digital governance initiative. Fellows will work at the intersection of regulatory law, applied AI evaluation, AI governance, and public policy, contributing to the frameworks, evaluation methods, and institutional structures necessary for governing AI systems as part of Saudi Arabia's digital transformation agenda. The programme operates as a single cohort intake, with all 21 Fellows joining on the same date and working across two parallel tracks.
Programme Tracks
- International Fellowship: This track seeks global specialist talent in regulatory law, applied AI/ML evaluation, and AI governance/policy.
- Localisation and Capacity-Building Track: Designed to pair Saudi talent with expertise in the same skill areas as the International track, this track aims to build lasting in-country expertise alongside international specialists.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and apply AI risk-classification frameworks.
- Define and monitor regulatory compliance requirements for AI systems.
- Design oversight-body structures and audit mechanisms.
- Translate technical evaluation findings into governance and policy recommendations.
- Conduct policy research and comparative analysis of digital and AI policy instruments.
- Lead stakeholder consultation across government and industry.
- Evaluate the socio-economic impact of proposed digital policy measures.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience required: 0-1 years.
- Location: The role is fully onsite in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Remote or hybrid working options are not available.
- International Fellowship candidates must be willing and able to relocate to Riyadh.
- Saudi National Fellowship candidates must hold Saudi nationality.
- Start date for all 21 roles is 26 November 2026. Applicants must confirm their availability for this date.
