AI Governance & Framework Lead

About the Role

C5i is seeking an AI Governance & Framework Lead to establish the bank's AI governance ecosystem. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience. The role involves transforming an existing unit into an operational, regulatory-compliant department.

Role Context and Objectives

The primary objective of this role is to design and implement a comprehensive AI Governance Framework. This includes facilitating cross-functional stakeholder alignment and defining roles and responsibilities across the bank through a strict RACI matrix. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that all AI initiatives adhere to established governance standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and operationalize the bank's Enterprise AI Governance Framework, including policies, guidelines, and risk-tiering standards for financial AI workloads such as credit scoring, fraud detection, and LLMs.
• Manage stakeholder relationships by acting as a liaison between departments including Risk Management, Compliance, Legal, Cybersecurity, Data/IT, Business Units, and Digital & Data Governance teams.
• Conduct workshops to map and finalize the RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) Matrix for all AI lifecycles, from ideation to decommissioning, clarifying ownership for model drift, bias mitigation, and regulatory data leaks.
• Ensure all framework designs comply with Saudi financial regulations and directives, specifically incorporating SAMA (Saudi Central Bank) circulars, SDAIA AI Ethics Principles, and the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).
• Establish a centralized registry to catalogue all active and pipeline AI tools across the bank, implementing risk-tiering rules (Critical, High, Limited, Low risk) based on Saudi national draft policies.

Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in AI governance and framework development.
• Experience in financial services or a highly regulated industry is preferred.

This is a full-time position located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within a unit focused on establishing robust AI governance for the bank.
