About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Assistant Construction Director, T&C and Hand-Over, to join our Transportation Project Delivery team. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves significant contribution to a multi-disciplinary Transportation project.

Role Overview

The Assistant Construction Director will lead the construction supervision functional group throughout all stages of the project lifecycle. This includes preliminary works, design, engineering, and construction, working in collaboration with other functional leads within the organization. The role requires close coordination with the Design & Build Contractor, overseeing construction, testing and commissioning, and the final hand-over of works, with a primary focus on project delivery and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage construction supervision teams, including Resident Engineers, Discipline Engineers, Inspectors, and support staff.
• Establish project supervision objectives, priorities, and performance expectations.
• Mentor, develop, and evaluate team members to maintain a high-performing organization.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential risks, delays, and issues, directing corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure timely completion of project deliverables and reporting requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding construction supervision matters and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Participate in project review meetings and executive-level presentations.
• Monitor contractor compliance with contract terms and conditions, reviewing and providing recommendations on variations, claims, and disputes.
• Ensure proper documentation and record management practices are maintained.
• Monitor project supervision budgets and resource utilization, reviewing forecasts, staffing plans, and financial performance.
• Support management in achieving revenue and profitability targets and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies.
• Prepare and present periodic project performance reports to senior management and clients, monitoring KPIs and escalating critical issues.
• Ensure compliance with organizational governance and reporting requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in construction supervision and project delivery, particularly within transportation infrastructure. The role requires proven leadership skills in managing multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring project delivery aligns with approved designs, contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, budget constraints, and project schedules. Experience in testing, commissioning, and hand-over activities is essential.
