About the Role

Nestlé Saudi Arabia is seeking an Assistant Manager, Modern Trade to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role focuses on driving growth, achieving executional excellence, and fostering strong customer partnerships within the retail channel. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Purpose and Context

The Assistant Manager, Modern Trade is responsible for delivering the overall value of retail (VOR), which includes sales targets, display execution, new item listings, and core distribution. Key activities involve ensuring comprehensive coverage of Nestlé items, addressing systemic issues related to route coverage, drop size, market share, and success rates within the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, initiating and negotiating contract terms related to visibility, shelf space, promotions, and implementation.
• Achieve core distribution targets, including the listing of new Stock Keeping Units (SKUs), picture of success targets, and agreed visibility elements within the Business Development Agreement (BDA).
• Account for the achievement of territory sales volumes across all product categories.
• Conduct daily field visits and follow up with stores in the assigned area to ensure product availability.
• Report market intelligence, including sales analysis, monthly initiative implementations, competitor activities, new launches, customer plans, and shopper profiles, to sales management.
• Ensure the effective and efficient implementation of promotional plans in stores within the assigned area(s).
• Monitor on-shelf availability of all products based on core distribution by coordinating with merchandisers and conducting store visits.
• Ensure correct product handling and condition on shelves in accordance with company policy.
• Verify that shelf and warehouse stocks are correctly audited, rotated, and that short expiry issues are handled properly, in line with company policy.
• Ensure collection and financial reconciliation are completed according to Nestlé's established payment terms.
• Submit and maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, and other required reports and forms.
• Follow up with merchandisers on their daily journey plans and resolve any arising issues.
• Provide constructive feedback on stock handling and product implementation on shelves, checkouts, secondary placements, and gondolas.
• Ensure strict adherence and compliance with all activities, including those in trade, to the WHO International Code of Marketing of Breast-Milk Substitutes, Nestlé Instructions, and local country codes.
• Comply with Nestlé’s stringent requirements that marketing and sales personnel will not seek contact with, or provide advice to, pregnant women or mothers of infants and young children regarding Infant Formula in their business capacity.

Experience and Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field, preferably within key account management or modern trade.
• Demonstrated ability to develop strong customer relationships and negotiate contracts.
• Proven track record of achieving sales volumes and distribution targets.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, involving daily field visits to stores within the assigned area.
