About the Role

Courtyard by Marriott in Riyadh is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Restaurants. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, bar, and room service departments, ensuring guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily restaurant, bar, and room service operations, including supervision of staff and guest service during peak times.
  • Ensure adherence to hygiene standards and assist in menu planning.
  • Maintain operating budgets and ensure compliance with all relevant standards and legal regulations.
  • Process employee inquiries and concerns, and supervise staff to ensure performance expectations are met.
  • Provide constructive feedback to employees based on service observations.
  • Supervise daily shift operations and oversee restaurant operations in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and communicate goals to achieve expected results.
  • Ensure all employees have necessary supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
  • Communicate any issues regarding food quality and service standards to management.
  • Supervise food and beverage service in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Perform duties of restaurant employees as needed, including opening and closing procedures.

Guest Service Excellence

  • Interact with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service standards.
  • Supervise staff to ensure guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
  • Encourage employees to provide excellent guest service within established guidelines.
  • Process guest inquiries and complaints, seeking assistance from supervisors when necessary.
  • Strive to improve service performance and establish a positive example for guest service.
  • Assist employees in evaluating guest feedback and satisfaction results.
  • Welcome guests and ensure a positive dining experience.

Human Resources Development

  • Supervise ongoing employee training and utilize available on-the-job training tools.
  • Communicate performance expectations to employees based on job descriptions.
  • Plan for performance, provide ongoing coaching, and offer encouragement to employees.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED, with 4 years of experience in food/beverage, kitchen, or a related field.
  • A two-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality Management, Business Management, or a related field, with 2 years of experience in food/beverage, kitchen, or a related field.
