About the Role

The Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) is seeking an Audit Manager to lead the Internal Audit function at its Saudi Arabia Branch in Riyadh. This full-time role involves planning and executing risk-based audit engagements across the Branch's business, operational, financial, and support activities. The Audit Manager will provide independent and objective assurance regarding the adequacy and effectiveness of the Branch's governance, risk management, and internal control arrangements, ensuring compliance with Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) requirements, applicable laws, Head Office standards, and approved internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Branch's internal audit charter, methodology, and working-paper standards in line with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and SAMA requirements.
  • Prepare the annual risk-based audit plan, supported by a documented audit universe and risk assessment, and submit it for Audit Committee approval.
  • Plan and execute audit engagements across the Branch's business, operational, financial, credit, treasury, IT, and support functions, including scoping, fieldwork, testing, and evidence gathering.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and operating effectiveness of governance arrangements, risk management processes, and internal controls, identifying control weaknesses and root causes.
  • Prepare clear and well-supported audit reports, including findings, risk ratings, root-cause analysis, and practical recommendations, and agree management action plans with process owners.
  • Monitor and follow up on the timely implementation of agreed management actions arising from internal audit, external audit, and regulatory examinations, escalating overdue items as necessary.
  • Prepare periodic audit reports, dashboards, and management information for the Audit Committee, Board members, and Head Office Internal Audit.
  • Conduct special reviews, investigations, and ad-hoc assignments as requested by the Audit Committee or senior management.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory examination teams, providing required documentation and evidence.
  • Maintain the independence and objectivity of the Internal Audit function, ensuring no operational or control-ownership responsibilities are assumed.
  • Maintain a quality assurance and improvement program for the Internal Audit function, including periodic self-assessment.
  • Stay informed of regulatory developments, banking industry practices, and emerging risks, reflecting them in the audit plan and approach.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential audit files, working papers, and documentation in line with the Bank's record-retention requirements.
