About the Role

stc is seeking a B B Solutions Architecture Principal Expert to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to providing advanced technical expertise in customer solution design, specifically focusing on IoT solutions for deployment across various stc markets.

Role Purpose and Strategic Impact

The Principal Expert plays a critical role in advising on operational work processes and mandates. A key objective is to minimize technical and operational risks, ensuring all duties are performed in strict accordance with established business policies and procedures. This position contributes to the strategic alignment of solutions with the Enterprise Architect framework and STC's technology roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on the design, monitoring, and optimization of architecture components for IoT applications, service architecture, technology, information elements, and technical solutions to ensure compliance with the Enterprise Architect framework.
• Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture to align Consumer/Enterprise/Functional CRs with the agreed STC technology strategy and roadmap.
• Evaluate gaps between as-is and to-be states, defining transition strategies to address them.
• Assess technical blueprint designs for solutions under development, considering technical capabilities and financial constraints.
• Support the development and implementation of testing programs covering areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error/bug retests, and usability.
• Suggest appropriate changes to high-level solution designs to accurately align with business requirements.
• Support the design and implementation of required services, including network designs, VPNs, hosting, operating systems, database systems, servers, virtualization, archiving systems, and server consolidation.
• Review and evaluate existing designs within STC to assess current capability and introduce potential improvements to infrastructure services.
• Provide periodical analysis and capacity forecasting for network capacity, application capacity and features, storage and back-up, server consolidation, OS and database services, security infrastructure, and enterprise data network.
• Structure cloud computing strategy and architecture aligned with business needs, including evaluating technologies and vendors for private cloud deployment.
• Support the integration of cloud infrastructure into existing, traditional applications operations management processes as needed.
• Advise on appropriate technology that is compliant with specifications and STC’s requirements, ensuring competent customer designs for successful testing and implementation.
• Provide an ‘outside-in’ perspective, ensuring world-class system encompassing all Infrastructure & Applications design and engineering practices are adopted and complied with.
• Provide recommendations, remedial actions, and measures for course correction on specific complex escalations to avoid delays or complications.
• Advise on the formulation of design and engineering initiatives to ensure consistent communication and implementation.
• Analyze reports and metrics, identify potential issues, and undertake preventive measures to mitigate technical and operational risks, while maintaining external awareness of technology developments for relevant project identification.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated prior experience in Network design within the telecommunication or technology industry.

Technical Expertise and Advisory

The role demands deep technical proficiency across various domains, including IoT architecture, cloud computing, network infrastructure, and enterprise data management. The Principal Expert will provide critical advice on technology selection, design compliance, and strategic alignment, ensuring robust and scalable solutions. This includes evaluating technical blueprints, forecasting capacity needs, and integrating complex cloud infrastructures into existing operational frameworks.
