BIM Coordinator

About the Role

Jacobs (KSA) is seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator to support the construction supervision and delivery of Hyperscale Data Center and Mission-Critical Infrastructure projects across All SA Regions, specifically in Riyadh. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM) activities throughout the construction lifecycle. The successful candidate will ensure multidisciplinary design and construction models are effectively integrated, coordinated, and aligned with project requirements.

Role Context and Scope

The BIM Coordinator will work on large-scale data center projects where complex architectural, structural, MEP, ICT, and mission-critical systems must be managed within a highly collaborative BIM environment. This position involves close collaboration with project teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure model accuracy, clash-free coordination, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate BIM activities across all project disciplines, including Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), ICT, ELV, and Civil works.
• Manage federated BIM models, ensuring compliance with project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), employer information requirements, and project standards.
• Review, monitor, and validate consultant and contractor BIM deliverables throughout all project phases.
• Ensure BIM models are maintained, updated, and accurately reflect approved design changes and construction progress.
• Establish model coordination procedures and workflows to support efficient project delivery.
• Support the implementation of BIM standards, protocols, naming conventions, and data management procedures.
• Coordinate BIM models associated with hyperscale data centers, including data halls, administration buildings, substations, central utility plants, generator facilities, cooling infrastructure, ICT networks, security systems, and supporting infrastructure.
• Facilitate multidisciplinary coordination of mission-critical systems such as power distribution networks, UPS systems, diesel generators, transformers, chilled water systems, cooling plants, CRAH/CRAC units, fire protection systems, structured cabling, DCIM, BMS, and security infrastructure.
• Conduct regular BIM coordination reviews and clash detection exercises using federated models, identifying, tracking, and managing design and construction clashes.
• Support construction supervision teams through model-based reviews and coordination activities, verifying BIM models align with approved construction documentation.
• Generate model-based reports, visualizations, and project coordination outputs, supporting BIM-based project tracking and progress monitoring.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, project managers, design teams, and construction supervision personnel, facilitating BIM coordination meetings and technical workshops.

Clash Detection and Model Reviews

The role involves conducting regular BIM coordination reviews and clash detection exercises using federated models. This includes identifying, tracking, and managing design and construction clashes between disciplines, coordinating their resolution with stakeholders, and preparing clash reports, coordination logs, and action trackers. Monitoring the closure of identified issues and maintaining accurate records of coordination outcomes are also key.

Construction Support and Digital Delivery

Support for construction supervision teams includes model-based reviews and coordination activities, verifying BIM models align with approved construction documentation and shop drawings. The coordinator will assist site teams in resolving design discrepancies and constructability challenges, and monitor model updates to reflect as-built conditions. Additionally, the role supports digital delivery by generating model-based reports, tracking project progress, maintaining the Common Data Environment (CDE), and preparing BIM progress reports for project management and client review, including supporting digital handover at project closeout.

Stakeholder Coordination and Best Practices

The BIM Coordinator will coordinate extensively with various stakeholders, including clients, consultants, contractors, and project managers. This involves facilitating BIM coordination meetings and technical workshops, providing technical support regarding BIM standards and workflows, and assisting in the development of BIM best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across projects.
