The Role of Business Development Representative
Proofpoint is seeking a Business Development Representative for Emerging Markets. This full-time role involves joining the Business Development team to generate qualified sales opportunities for the sales team. The representative will collaborate closely with regional sales and marketing teams to produce sales-accepted leads through a combination of inbound lead follow-up and outbound prospecting activities.
Key Responsibilities
The Business Development Representative will be responsible for the following:
- Gathering intelligence and developing a deep understanding of assigned accounts.
- Utilizing gathered intelligence to connect the sales team with influencers and decision-makers within prospect accounts across all vertical markets.
- Working with Account Management and Marketing to define and execute an account-based sales strategy for the Middle East and Africa region.
Daily Activities
Day-to-day tasks for this position include:
- Qualifying and developing inbound and outbound sales-accepted leads, and responding to product inquiries.
- Gathering actionable intelligence, such as competitor information, ongoing projects, and purchase intent, for a designated list of accounts.
- Following up on all leads generated by marketing efforts and converting initial interest into sales-accepted leads.
- Managing email campaigns aimed at generating new sales prospects.
- Managing telephone-based cold-calling campaigns to generate new sales prospects.
- Ensuring accurate tracking of communication with current and potential customers within ************
- Scheduling demonstrations between Enterprise Sales team members and potential customers.
Location and Eligibility
This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role can also be located in Dubai. For applicants based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this role is restricted to Saudi nationals in adherence to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Saudisation policy.
