Business Unit Director

About the Role

Acciona is seeking a Business Unit Director to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves developing and executing business strategies to achieve both short-term and long-term objectives, reporting directly to the Cluster General Manager. The Director will also be responsible for implementing business plans focused on improving cost-efficiency and fostering strong, trust-based relationships with business partners, shareholders, and authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business strategies to achieve short and long-term goals.
• Develop and implement business plans to enhance cost-efficiency.
• Maintain positive and trust-based relations with business partners, shareholders, and authorities.
• Oversee business unit operations, financial performance, investments, and ventures.
• Ensure clear communication of company policies and legal guidelines.
• Guide commercial actions in synergy with other company entities, focusing on customer loyalty and acquisition.
• Command production by considering external resources and cooperating with other Group entities, managing the Business Unit's budget and finances.
• Ensure correct application of health and safety regulations.
• Direct strategic activities and responsibilities, and be accountable for tactical implementation by subordinate managers.
• Direct the development of short-term and long-term plans and budgets based on Contract Objectives and goals.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and consultants within the Business Unit, attending regular meetings.
• Ensure adequate observance of HSE policy.
• Superintend day-to-day site activities, coordinate forward planning, and review and monitor all progress reports.
• Ensure general procedures are followed as required by authorities.

Management and Oversight

This role includes direct responsibility for team management, ensuring effective leadership and operational efficiency within the business unit.

Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive experience (10+ years) as a Managing Director or in a similar leadership role.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic and business plans.
• Technical knowledge in water distribution and wastewater collection.

Required Skills

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
