About the Role

APT Advanced Power Technology Contracting is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead and oversee all accounting operations. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and requires a candidate with over 10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Financial Reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and ensure timely financial closing.
• Provide financial analysis, management reports, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Manage project accounting, including job costing, Work-in-Progress (WIP), revenue recognition, and project profitability analysis.
• Monitor project budgets against actual expenditures and report cost variances.
• Review and verify subcontractor payments, progress billings, retention balances, and contract variations.
• Ensure compliance with VAT regulations, taxation laws, accounting standards, and company policies.
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls and accurate financial documentation.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and manage audit findings.
• Supervise monthly payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely salary payments via the Wage Protection System (WPS).
• Manage payroll-related provisions, including annual leave, air ticket entitlements, and End of Service (EOS) benefits.
• Monitor project cash flows, working capital requirements, and overall liquidity.
• Manage company bank accounts, payment planning, fund utilization, and banking relationships.
• Lead, supervise, and develop accounting staff to ensure operational efficiency and professional growth.
• Improve accounting procedures, reporting systems, and financial processes for enhanced accuracy, control, and efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chief Accountant.
• Proven ability to work effectively under pressure with a small team.
• Previous experience in contracting companies is preferred, particularly within the MEP field.
• A minimum of 10 years of overall professional experience is required.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position located in Riyadh. The role involves leading and developing a team of accounting staff.
