About the Chief Accountant Role

Samaya Investment Company is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead its daily accounting operations. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in accounting and financial management. The role is central to ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting across the company.

Role Purpose and Financial Oversight

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting function, ensuring timely and accurate financial closings, and maintaining full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) requirements. This role plays a critical part in the financial integrity and operational efficiency of Samaya Investment Company.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing cycles, ensuring the general ledger and trial balance are finalized by the 5th of each month.
• Supervise the processing of journal entries, accruals, provisions, and intercompany transactions across all group entities.
• Oversee and ensure accurate reconciliation of bank accounts, supplier accounts, customer accounts, and intercompany balances.
• Prepare precise monthly financial statements, including the Profit & Loss statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statement.
• Prepare and file Value Added Tax (VAT) returns, fulfill Zakat requirements, and ensure compliance with E-Invoicing (Fatoora) regulations.
• Support the annual budgeting process and conduct comprehensive variance analysis.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable cycles, including aging analysis and collection efforts.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and prepare all necessary audit schedules.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and supervise periodic inventory counts.
• Supervise and foster the professional development of the accounting team, establishing clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Optimize the utilization of the Odoo ERP system, specifically its Financial and Accounting Modules.

Experience and Professional Requirements

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing full accounting cycles and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding and practical application of IFRS and ZATCA regulations, including VAT, Zakat, and E-Invoicing.
• Proven ability to lead and develop an accounting team.

Technical Proficiency

Candidates must possess strong proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with specific experience in optimizing the financial and accounting modules of Odoo ERP being highly valued. The role requires leveraging technology to enhance accounting processes and reporting.
