Chief Engineer

About the Role

The Luxury Collection is seeking a Chief Engineer to manage all engineering and maintenance operations. This full-time position is based in Ad Diriyah, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on maintaining the building, grounds, and physical plant with an emphasis on safety, security, and asset protection. The role involves managing budgets, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering operations, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and life safety systems.
• Ensure equipment operates at optimum effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
• Establish and manage an effective rooms maintenance program.
• Manage departmental controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
• Select, order, or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
• Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine required work.
• Recommend or arrange for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and equipment replacement.
• Maintain accurate logs and records as required.
• Assist in planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.
• Lead the emergency response team for all facility issues.

Customer Service and Profitability

• Address guest problems and complaints effectively.
• Empower employees to deliver excellent customer service and foster a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
• Help establish priorities for total property maintenance needs.
• Ensure ongoing communication within all areas of responsibility to align with business objectives and recognize exemplary performance.

Human Resources and Compliance

• Recognize and celebrate team member contributions.
• Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees, ensuring fair and equitable treatment.
• Provide feedback to employees based on service behavior observations and solicit employee feedback.
• Supervise employee execution of departmental and property emergency procedures.
• Review employee satisfaction results to identify and address concerns.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with facility regulations and safety standards.
• Ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation adhere to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in engineering or maintenance operations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, capital expenditure projects, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and safety standards.
• Experience in leading emergency response teams.
