Cloud Solutions Architect (AWS)

About the Role

Devoteam is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect (AWS) to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is for a senior technical lead who will oversee AWS migration and transformation projects. The architect ensures the quality of work from delivery teams, sets technical direction, reviews designs and deliverables, and provides support for complex technical issues. The position requires 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee cloud migration activities, tracking technical progress against project scope and objectives.
• Review migration assessments, wave plans, and chosen migration approaches (rehost, replatform, refactor, etc.).
• Approve cutover, rollback, and hypercare plans, confirming technical readiness for go-live.
• Monitor technical risks and issues during execution, agreeing on mitigation actions with delivery teams.
• Review and approve solution designs (HLDs and LLDs), architecture diagrams, and technical standards.
• Assess project deliverables, including landing zone designs, migration runbooks, and operational handover documents, for quality and compliance.
• Define review checklists, acceptance criteria, and quality gates for technical deliverables.
• Ensure designs adhere to the AWS Well-Architected Framework across security, reliability, performance, cost, and operations.
• Provide architectural guidance and AWS best practices to delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Advise on key technical decisions such as account structure, network connectivity, identity, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with project teams, client stakeholders, AWS, and third-party vendors to resolve technical challenges.
• Represent the technical position in steering and status meetings, explaining design trade-offs and risks.
• Act as the escalation point for technical disagreements and decisions on supervised projects.
• Support technical governance, design reviews, and decision-making, maintaining records of key decisions.
• Contribute to practice review templates, standards, and reference architectures.
• Support pre-sales activities with solution reviews and technical input for proposals when required.

Experience and Work Environment

This role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience. The Cloud Solutions Architect will work collaboratively with delivery engineers, project managers, client stakeholders, AWS representatives, and third-party vendors. The position is full-time and based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, ensuring all work adheres to AWS best practices and client security and quality requirements.
