Role Overview: Commercial / Contracts Manager

CAE is seeking an experienced Commercial / Contracts Manager for its Defense & Security business unit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves providing contractual and commercial support for bidding and managing contracts within the CAE EMEA region. The manager will work closely with the Strategy & Business Development and Programmes teams to deliver commercially reasonable contractual solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for internal and external customers regarding contractual matters, fostering strong relationships.
  • Review customer-proposed contractual agreements (NDAs, Teaming Agreements, TAAs, Contracts) and formulate CAE's position in collaboration with legal counsel.
  • Participate in business-winning Bid Teams, including generating commercial responses to RFPs based on agreed strategies and input from various disciplines (*, pricing, finance, legal).
  • Assist the Bids and Proposals Manager in creating proposal documentation, such as Commercial Volumes, Risk and Opportunity Registers, and Compliance Matrices.
  • Conduct commercial/contractual reviews of all proposal documents provided by the Bids and Proposals Manager.
  • Support the development and implementation of negotiation strategies and participate in contract negotiations with customers alongside Sales/Business Development Leads or Programme Managers.
  • Prepare and negotiate new contracts and amendments, ensuring proper approval, in close coordination with CAE legal counsel.
  • Provide guidance on compliance with customer contract terms and conditions, and identify appropriate flow-down requirements for subcontractors.
  • Support the Programme Management function by assisting with subcontract negotiations as needed.
  • Identify potential contractual liabilities, risks, issues, and disputes with customers, suppliers, partners, and third parties, reporting to CAE legal and developing mitigation plans.
  • Maintain contractual records, key correspondence, status reports, and issue reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Corporate Policies and Procedures related to bidding and contract management.

Required Experience

  • Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in commercial and contracts management.
