Commercial Manager

About the Role

SAMA Holding Co- SAMA Construction ** is seeking a Commercial Manager to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves overseeing and managing all commercial and contractual aspects of the company's projects. The Commercial Manager will ensure the protection of the company's contractual rights and financial interests throughout the project lifecycle, providing strategic commercial advice to senior management.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and manage main contracts, subcontract agreements, and other commercial arrangements, ensuring compliance with company policies and contractual requirements.
• Identify contractual risks, obligations, liabilities, and potential exposures before contract execution, and monitor ongoing contractual compliance.
• Lead the commercial review and negotiation of subcontract agreements, ensuring terms align with main contract requirements and protect company interests.
• Manage subcontractor contractual issues, disputes, and commercial negotiations, coordinating with project management and procurement teams.
• Lead the assessment, preparation, submission, and negotiation of contractual claims, including variations, extensions of time (EOT), delays, and additional costs.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle, advising senior management on contractual exposures.
• Represent the Company in commercial and contractual negotiations with Employers, Consultants, Subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor project commercial performance, contractual commitments, and financial exposures, preparing regular commercial reports.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and other relevant departments to ensure commercial activities comply with applicable laws and company policies.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a commercial management role within the construction industry.
• Proven expertise in contract administration, subcontract procurement, and negotiations.
• Demonstrated experience in commercial risk assessment, claims management, and contractual compliance.
• Strong understanding of contractual obligations, liabilities, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
