WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Commissioning Engineer Power Plant to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to significant power plant projects within a professional engineering consultancy.

The Role

The Commissioning Engineer will provide essential technical expertise throughout the commissioning phase of power plant projects. This involves a focus on reviewing contractor documentation, attending critical inspections, and proactively identifying potential issues to ensure smooth project execution. The role requires a keen eye for detail and a foundational understanding of power plant commissioning processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise by reviewing contractor’s plans, procedures, and logic sequences.
• Attend and approve various inspections and tests.
• Adopt a proactive approach to anticipate issues based on past Testing & Commissioning experience.
• Demonstrate proven experience in working with multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.
• Witness key testing hold points and maintain a dashboard of progress onsite for different stages of testing.
• Maintain continuous coordination efforts to integrate all project interfaces into a cohesive system.
• Review Contractor/OEM commissioning procedures and commissioning test reports.
• Review PT procedures and performance test calculations.
• Perform independent calculations to verify OEM data.
• Supervise and witness commissioning activities.

Required Qualifications

• *** in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a relevant qualification.

Experience and Skills

Candidates should possess 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders in complex project environments. Experience in testing and commissioning, particularly within Open/Close Cycle Gas Turbine projects, is highly valued for anticipating potential issues.
