About the Role

El Seif Engineering Contracting is seeking a dedicated Construction Manager to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position is critical for overseeing all site activities and progress, ensuring that project packages are completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with company and client requirements. The role involves providing essential technical advice and supervision to on-site staff, manpower, and subcontractors.

Core Responsibilities

The Construction Manager will manage various operational aspects of construction projects, focusing on execution, resource management, and reporting. Key duties include:

• Overseeing day-to-day responsibilities of the site team in accordance with project business plans, company policies and procedures, and meeting the approved budget.
• Supervising related equipment operations at site and managing effective utilization.
• Assisting the Project Manager with producing Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and providing required support to ensure timely approvals.
• Monitoring project execution items and reporting unbudgeted ones.
• Issuing variation orders for any change in the scope of works that could result from design or shop drawings by the consultant or instructions from the client.
• Liaising with project management to obtain approval from the consultant for design, shop drawings, and material submittals.
• Regularly reporting the operational and financial status of the site zones to the Project Manager.
• Monitoring labor productivity by liaising with the HR and management teams to mobilize needed resources in a timely manner.
• Monitoring labor availability and measuring trade productivity to support project execution within budget and schedule.
• Providing comments and recommendations for the Engineering function to generate shop drawings.
• Assisting the Project Manager in developing project work plans, assigning work activities, monitoring workflow, and directing activities to serve project goals and plans.
• Following up on delivery and close out of site works in accordance with contractual arrangements and agreed financial and commercial objectives.
• Preparing and presenting monthly site summary reports for the Project Manager.
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring project plans and project controls mechanisms (progress vs. plan), making recommendations on changes to project specifications, budgets, and schedules to the Project Director, and highlighting possible risks with mitigation plans.
• Working with suppliers and subcontractors to establish detailed project plans identifying key milestones and deliverables.
• Ensuring the implementation of the approved shop drawings as per the set specifications and standards.
• Preparing all Inspection Requests and following up with Consultant’s engineers for all approvals of the works.

Leadership, Compliance, and Stakeholder Engagement

This role also involves significant leadership responsibilities, focusing on team development, ethical conduct, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Supporting the development of KSA national employees across the team to support corporate objectives, Saudization targets, and the knowledge dissemination culture.
• Providing inputs to Human Resources on succession planning, employee career growth, and organizational structure.
• Managing and conducting the affairs of the team with the highest standards of respect, integrity, accountability, agility, quality, safety, and corporate governance.
• Ensuring compliance with the Code of Ethics policy and adopting company values across all function’s employees, providing leadership to reinforce a strong people culture and ethical business practices.
• Managing the adoption and utilization of systems and ERP within the function.
• Promoting and maintaining health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed.
• Ensuring the implementation of the company QHSE plans on site.
• Establishing good communications with other Project departments.
• Supporting the development and maintenance of a constructive relationship with clients.

Required Experience

Candidates for the Construction Manager position must possess 5 to 10 years of experience in construction management or a closely related field. This experience should demonstrate a proven capability in overseeing complex site operations and managing diverse project teams effectively.
