Consultant Governance & Compliance

About the Role

Elm Company is seeking a Consultant Governance & Compliance to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves providing senior expertise in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) to develop, review, and enhance governance frameworks, compliance controls, risk assessments, policies, procedures, and executive reporting. The Consultant will support the Governance & Compliance Department in ensuring organizational adherence to regulations, internal policies, and best practices, while offering practical recommendations to strengthen control maturity and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized advice on governance, risk, and compliance matters to support consistent and controlled business practices.
• Interpret regulatory, internal policy, and governance requirements, translating them into practical controls and actions.
• Develop, review, and enhance governance frameworks, control models, procedures, and decision-making mechanisms.
• Conduct compliance reviews and monitoring activities to evaluate adherence to internal policies, applicable regulations, and approved procedures.
• Support the identification, assessment, and documentation of governance and compliance risks, proposing mitigation actions and escalation paths.
• Review and update policies, procedures, guidelines, and compliance documents to ensure alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Prepare periodic GRC reports, dashboards, and executive summaries covering compliance status, risks, observations, and action plans.
• Coordinate the collection and validation of evidence for internal reviews, audits, regulatory requests, or compliance assessments.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, clarify GRC expectations, and support practical implementation of requirements.

Governance and Compliance Support

This role involves supporting management in identifying governance gaps and recommending improvements aligned with organizational priorities. It also includes assessing the effectiveness of existing governance practices and coordinating with stakeholders to embed requirements within operational processes. The consultant will identify compliance gaps, control weaknesses, and recurring observations, following up on agreed actions to ensure timely remediation and management visibility.

Reporting and Continuous Improvement

The Consultant will analyze governance and compliance data to identify trends and priorities requiring management attention, ensuring reports are accurate and provide clear insights for informed decision-making. This position also supports the analysis of audit observations, translating findings into clear remediation plans and ownership structures, and tracking remediation activities. A key aspect is identifying opportunities to improve governance practices, compliance monitoring, documentation quality, and reporting efficiency, contributing to a culture of accountability and transparency.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, review, and enhance governance frameworks, compliance controls, and risk assessments.
• Experience in interpreting regulatory and internal policy requirements.

Work Environment and Standards

The Consultant will operate in a full-time capacity in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Adherence to all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions is required to ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. Compliance with all relevant safety, quality, environmental management policies, procedures, and controls, as well as information security practices and standards, is mandatory to ensure a healthy, safe, and secure work environment with data integrity and confidentiality.
