The Role of Country Holding Officer

The Country Holding Officer is responsible for ensuring that ABB operates according to required standards and maintains compliance with all fiduciary requirements across the country. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and reports to the Global CHO Lead, Electrification. The role coordinates local functions and business organizations to ensure consistency, expertise, and regulatory focus, while representing ABB at the local governance level and leading the finance front office.

Key Objectives

Beyond maintaining regulatory compliance, this role aims to establish an agile business platform that enables divisions to adapt with flexibility. Key priorities include driving process simplification, reducing complexity, and supporting the business to secure a highly motivated and skilled workforce for sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring effective collaboration between businesses, consistent with the "ABB-Way."
  • Actively seeking opportunities to simplify and streamline processes.
  • Establishing and maintaining local governance in line with regulations while eliminating internal complexity.
  • Fulfilling and coordinating fiduciary duties for ABB's local legal entities, supporting all respective functions, Business Areas, and Divisions.
  • Acting as the authorized signatory for compliance with local regulations, statutory, tax, treasury, and HSE requirements.
  • Representing ABB locally or organizing representation by another local leader/expert, focusing on external representation (*, in associations, government relations), and actively managing partnerships and external (non-customer) stakeholders when significant across several local businesses.
  • Responsible for compliance with all applicable local fiduciary finance requirements, overseeing compliance with US GAAP, local reporting, internal controls, legal, and tax requirements, with support from respective functions. This includes oversight and alignment of Real Estate across the country.
  • Consulted on, facilitating, and supporting global business for the Country within scope for M&A activities, reorganizations, restructuring, non-core activities, and carve-outs, as requested. Leading or actively supporting the local aspects of global projects, as needed.
  • Maintaining relations with external auditors and communicating their local findings and recommendations to the appropriate organization for remediation (*, Business, Finance Services, or Corporate).
  • Championing process simplification and elimination of non-value-added activities across all fiduciary and governance functions.
  • Acting as strong local leadership for corporate/globally owned functions such as Country Communications, Government Relations, HR, Legal, Tax, and Treasury.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
