Saudi Gold Refinery (SGR) is a Saudi mining and precious-metals company specializing in the refining of gold and precious metals, bullion production, and value-added services. Operating within the Kingdom’s mining value chain, SGR aligns with Vision 2030 and adheres to regulatory frameworks set by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (MIM), as well as applicable Saudi and international standards. The Crusher Supervisor Role
SGR is seeking a full-time Crusher Supervisor in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is critical for overseeing the efficient operation of our primary and secondary crushing facilities, ensuring a consistent and optimal feed size for downstream gold recovery processes. The Crusher Supervisor will report directly to the Plant Superintendent and is responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining high standards of safety and environmental compliance, and maximizing equipment availability and throughput. This position requires a hands-on leader capable of managing shift teams and coordinating maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of jaw and cone crushers to achieve consistent ore fragmentation and throughput targets.
- Enforce strict adherence to Permit-to-Work and Lockout-Tagout procedures to ensure personnel safety and equipment integrity.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule liner changes and repairs during planned shutdown windows.
- Provide direct supervision to operators and conduct regular competency assessments to ensure technical proficiency.
- Generate accurate shift reports detailing tonnage processed, downtime events, and safety observations for management review.
- Monitor product size distribution and adjust crusher settings to meet specifications required by the milling circuit.
- Ensure dust suppression systems operate effectively to meet environmental permits and regulatory standards.
- Identify opportunities to optimize energy consumption and reduce wear part costs through data-driven analysis.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least five years of experience in hard rock mining, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory role.
- Proven technical knowledge of primary gyratory and secondary cone crushing equipment.
- A strong understanding of occupational health and safety regulations within the mining industry.
- Experience in leading multicultural teams and managing contractor performance.
- Proficiency in English for technical documentation and reporting.
- Valid driving license and willingness to work rotational shifts in an industrial setting.
Desired Skills and Attributes
- Experience with automated crushing circuits and SCADA control systems.
- Familiarity with gold processing workflows, including milling and leaching stages.
- Certification in Root Cause Analysis or similar problem-solving frameworks.
- Knowledge of Saudi mining regulations and local content requirements.
- Previous experience working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s mining sector.
Performance Metrics
- Achieve crushing circuit availability exceeding ninety-five percent on a monthly average.
- Maintain zero recordable safety incidents within the crushing department during the evaluation period.
- Attain liner life extension of fifteen percent improvement over baseline historical data.
- Ensure product size distribution remains within specified limits for ninety-eight percent of operating hours.
- Guarantee all shift personnel complete mandatory technical competency assessments within the first six months.
- Decrease specific energy consumption per ton of crushed ore by five percent year-over-year.
- Consistently maintain accurate and timely submission of daily production and safety reports.
