Data Analyst II Finance

About the Role

Tamara is seeking a Data Analyst II Finance to support the finance function and contribute to the company's growth. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Riyadh, and requires 2-5 years of experience. The role involves developing analytical solutions and supporting data-driven decision-making, while managing stakeholders within finance and corporate finance.

Role Context and Impact

The Data Analyst II Finance will operate at the intersection of finance and data, contributing to financial reporting through a solid understanding of accounting and finance. This includes practical experience with databases, ETL/ELT processes, and dashboard creation. The role focuses on developing key product success metrics and enhancing decision-making through data within a high-growth startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive business impact by providing actionable insights and identifying opportunities for growth.
• Build dashboards that offer accurate and actionable insights.
• Collaborate with the data engineering team on data enrichment needs for the product team.
• Work with stakeholders across the business to prioritize projects based on impact and ensure delivery.
• Develop processes to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets, enabling informed decision-making for stakeholders.
• Ensure governance and uphold analytical practices throughout all processes.

Required Experience and Technical Skills

• Experience: 4+ years in financial data analysis, with a preference for experience in the BNPL industry or related fields, demonstrating an understanding of relevant data and financial metrics.
• Technical Proficiency: Financial modeling, data manipulation using SQL, and potentially programming languages such as Python or R.
• Data Visualization: Ability to create clear and insightful data visualizations, including dashboards and reports.

Financial Knowledge and Analysis Techniques

• Financial Budgeting and Forecasting: Experience with financial budgets and forecasts, utilizing data analysis to inform projections and identify risks or opportunities.
• Financial Statement Analysis: Expertise in analyzing financial statements to assess company health, performance, and risk.
• Cost Analysis: Experience in analyzing business operation costs and identifying cost optimization opportunities.
• BNPL Products and Metrics: Familiarity with various BNPL products (*, point-of-sale financing, virtual cards) and their performance metrics (*, approval rates, conversion rates, delinquency, recovery).
• Financial Markets and Instruments: Understanding of equity markets, debt markets, and derivatives markets.
• Debt Securitization Analysis: Knowledge of debt securitization structures, tranching analysis, and performance metrics for securitized BNPL debt instruments (*, credit enhancement levels, loss severities).
• Financial Regulations: Awareness of relevant financial regulations, including GAAP, IFRS, or industry-specific regulations.
