About the Role: Data Center Engineer/Technician

Amazon Saudi Arabia is seeking a Data Center Engineer/Technician to join its Infrastructure Operations team in Riyadh. This full-time role is integral to the AWS Infrastructure Services group, which is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring continuous access to innovation for customers.

Role Overview and Team Contribution

As a primary resolver within the Data Center Operations (DCO) team, the Data Center Engineer/Technician will troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of data center infrastructure issues. This includes hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems. The role involves overseeing the operation and maintenance of IT infrastructure and hardware across AWS Cloud regions, gaining troubleshooting skills, and engaging other solution groups for complex issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to and maintain the highest safety standards, fostering a strong safety culture through initiatives and projects.
• Diagnose hardware and network problems, followed by performing physical repairs.
• Troubleshoot events efficiently within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures.
• Perform manual handling and lifting of equipment, adhering to regulatory weight limits.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in computer networking, or experience working with Linux operating systems.
• Computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience, or experience in similar technical or vocational roles.
• This position is open to Saudi Nationals only.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working according to appropriate health and safety standards and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers during problem resolution and operate efficiently under pressure.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordinating with a Manager.
• Knowledge of cabling best practices.
• Experience working in a data center environment, including racking and stacking gear, cable management, and hot/cold aisle containment.
