We are seeking a Data Center Electrical Design Manager EMEA to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in a full-time capacity.
Role Purpose and Scope
Reporting to the EMEA Director of Engineering - DC Segment, this role is responsible for managing the design, development, and implementation of innovative data centre solutions. The position requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background in data centre design, focused on driving innovation. This influential technical leader will drive design innovation, manage engineering teams, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and scalable data centre solutions. The role provides deep engineering support and direction for the design, build, and operation of large Data Centres, primarily focusing on electrical infrastructure while also extending into overall operational technology within the Data Centre environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Design Manager on data centre projects, leading the electrical design scope from concept through detailed design, construction support, and closeout.
- Provide hands-on electrical design expertise, offering technical leadership and ownership of critical design aspects for mission-critical facilities.
- Lead and coordinate electrical engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within multidisciplinary design teams for both large and small projects.
- Manage design deliverables, resources, schedules, and quality across assigned projects.
- Offer expert technical guidance and mentoring to the DC Design & Engineering team.
- Develop, implement, and uphold electrical design quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Review and approve electrical designs, calculations, reports, and specifications, including facilitating formal peer reviews.
- Serve as a client-facing technical lead, attending and contributing to client, contractor, and Eaton internal meetings.
- Lead project teams during value engineering, optioneering, and technical decision-making stages.
- Participate in and lead project site visits to monitor, review, and resolve electrical installation and commissioning matters.
- Collaborate with project management, commercial, and construction teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Required Experience and Expertise
Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in data centre electrical design and project management. Expertise is required within electromechanical systems such as cooling, building management systems (BMS), and energy management systems (EMS). A full appreciation of various building construction technologies and challenges is necessary, along with proven experience in project management and the supervision of build projects. The role also requires experience in the delivery of various product technologies and services within the Data Centre environment.

Essential skills include the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage complex project deliverables, and provide expert technical guidance. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves working within a dynamic engineering team focused on delivering advanced data centre solutions across the EMEA region. The role requires active participation in project site visits and close collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.
