Uptime Institute is seeking an experienced professional to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as a Data Center Instructor for a full-time position.

Purpose of the Instructor Position

The Data Center Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality education courses that are integral to The Global Digital Infrastructure Education Framework. This role involves sharing specialized knowledge and expertise with data center professionals and the future workforce across the world, contributing to the advancement of industry capabilities through comprehensive training programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality education courses that form part of The Global Digital Infrastructure Education Framework to learners across the world.
  • Share knowledge and expertise effectively with future workforces and industry professionals.

Candidate Profile and Essential Requirements

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of current, verifiable industry experience and a strong understanding of their specialist field within digital infrastructure. The role requires an innovative individual with exceptional communication skills, a confident presence, and an engaging approach to teaching and learning. A genuine passion for the subject area and a desire to share knowledge and experience with others are essential.

Required Knowledge includes:

  • Roles and Functions of Data Centres
  • Industry regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Data Centre facilities and equipment
  • Technologies and equipment commonly used in Data Centre facilities
  • Telecommunications systems and transmission media (Data cabling and Fiber Optics)

Preferred Experience and Additional Advantages

Preferred experience in:

  • Data Centre Technician roles
  • Data Centre Operations
  • Data Centre equipment care and maintenance
  • Testing and certification of Data cabling systems
  • Data Centre design principles
  • Post incident reviews and root cause analysis with follow-up actions and recommendations

Additional advantageous experience includes:

  • Project Management
  • Management of Data Centres
  • Design of new Data Centre installations
  • Installation of new systems into Data Centre facilities
  • Experience in the installation of technical services into Data Centres
  • Installation of new grey space/enabling equipment in Data centres supporting power distribution and cooling systems

Training and Professional Development

While a formal teaching qualification or previous experience in training, coaching, mentoring, or developing individuals is advantageous, it is not essential for this role. Full training will be provided to successful candidates. Instructors will be fully supported throughout their journey, undertaking a comprehensive train-the-trainer process for each course they are assigned to teach.
